About us

We are an African Church in Portland Maine United States of America. Light of People Church started in March 2012 in Angola however in the USA the Church began in November 2021.
Whether you do not think you believe in God, are looking to answer questions about God, just started following Jesus, or have followed Jesus for years, there is a place for you at the Light of People Church.
We have been serving many people in the community, immigrants, Black and people of color providing to them many supports and services in order to be integrated in the community, temporary shelter, finding and paying attorney's fees, transportation, organizing workshop and seminars to training and educating people to be part of the community and society.
We regard our community as an extension of our congregation A church’s mission field goes beyond its membership to include all the people God calls it to serve. We are connected to individuals who never set foot in your building.

Our missions

Light of People church is Christian organization providing spiritual and physical aid to people since 2021. Our mission is “Bringing the light and love of Christ into communities” in many ways:
Bringing the light of Christ into communities, restoring lives and families,
immigrants, Black and people of color who are suffering poverty, homeless, disease, and famine with the purpose of sharing God’s love through His Son, Jesus Christ. we seek to introduce people to the true Light of the World, Jesus Christ and to nurture their faith through all ages and stages of life and families in the New England (Maine). The Portland City is a big city in Maine where many immigrants and new comers prefer to live and work. We serve the community of families that live and work in the Portland area. We envision our region of the Church to become a beacon of faith and God's love for the families in our community.
